Who we are

RSJ Construction Ltd ("we", "us") is the data controller for personal information collected through this website. You can contact us about anything in this policy at rsjconstructionltd@gmail.com, by phone on 07973 426543, or by post at Unit 12 Filwood House, Filwood Road, Bristol BS16 3RY.

What we collect and why

Contact form and enquiries

When you send an enquiry through our contact form, by email or by phone, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if given) and the details of your message and project. We use this to respond to you, arrange site visits, prepare quotes and, if you go ahead, carry out the work.

Lawful basis: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)) and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries about our services (Article 6(1)(f)).

Technical information

Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) to keep the site secure and running. We do not use these logs to identify individuals.

Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in operating a secure website.

Cookies

This website does not use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies, and does not load third-party tracking scripts. Fonts and images are served from our own site rather than from Google or other third parties. Because we only use what is strictly necessary for the site to work, no cookie banner is required. If this changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first.

Who we share your data with

We never sell your personal data. We only share it with:

  • Our website hosting and email delivery providers, who process enquiry data on our behalf so that your message reaches us and you receive a confirmation email.
  • Our email provider (Google Workspace / Gmail), where enquiries are received and stored.
  • Professional advisers or authorities where we are legally required to do so.

Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, transfers are protected by UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement / standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep your data

Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted within 12 months of our last contact with you. If we carry out work for you, we keep project and contact records for 6 years after completion to meet our legal, tax and guarantee obligations, after which they are securely deleted.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Restrict or object to how we process your data.
  • Receive your data in a portable format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, email rsjconstructionltd@gmail.com. We will respond within one month. There is no charge unless a request is clearly unfounded or excessive.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

Security

Data sent through our contact form is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Access to enquiry emails is limited to the people who need it to deal with your request.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
